Back of House Waste Operative

TFS Group require a Back of House Waste Operative at Spinning Gate Shopping Centre

Position:                              Back of House Waste Operative
Location:                             Spinning Gate Shopping Centre, Leigh
Reporting To:                    TFS onsite Cleaning Supervisor
Weekly Hours:                 31 hours per week (details below), overtime when necessary
Duties include:

        • Collection and transportation of refuse from centre retailer partners to the centres service yard, ensuring cardboard is separated from general waste
        • Transporting the waste collected into the centres compactor and operating the machinery (full training will be provided)
        • Use of a floor cleaning machine (scrubber dryer) on the mall floor (full training will be provided)
        • Cleaning in the service corridors and toilets
        • Clean and maintain equipment (compactor, scrubber dryer, cleaning equipment)
        • Front of house duties include: cleaning the mall floor throughout the day
        • Litter picking and any other tasks required by the supervisor
        • This role is a very demanding role and we require someone who is physically active due to some heavy lifting and manoeuvring of waste
        • Compliance with centre procedures including Health & Safety regulations
        • Experience of a similar role is essential, but full training will be provided

TFS Group are looking for someone who is reliable, flexible who is willing to cover additional shifts and complete overtime when required

Environment:                    This job can be physically demanding and waste transportation work      would be outdoors in all weather conditions.

Working Hours:
Tuesday…….. 7.30am – 3.30pm
Friday……….. 1.30pm – 5.30pm
Saturday……. 5.30am – 3.30pm
Sunday……… 7am – 4pm

Personal Qualities:

  • Fitness and stamina (you will be on your feet alot, lifting and transporting heavy waste and you will be walking several miles each day
  • To feel comfortable working outdoors in all kinds of weather
  • Awareness of H&S regulations
  • To work carefully, paying attention to traffic on the service yard
  • To work well as part of a team
  • The ability to follow verbal instructions
  • To deal politely with retail partners and centre customers
  • A reliable and cooperative personality
